Major Wetlands in Acton

  • Grassy Pond is part of a 95 acre conservation land.  Located between Newton Road and Nagog Hill Road, it includes a pond, two streams, and surrounding wetlands. 
  • The Acton Arboretum contains a swamp, a bog, and a pond.  It is located near Conant Elementary School on Route 27.
  • The Heathen Hen Meadow near the border with Stow had large areas of wetlands with several streams.
  • Nagog Pond lake near Grassy Pond and Nagog Hill is one of the larger wetlands in Acton.   
  • The Assabet River is a river that flows from south Acton into Maynard.  It is the largest river in Acton.
